Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, we do! We provide in-house financing to help you manage the cost of your truck driver training. Our program allows you to get started on your new career without having to pay the full tuition upfront.

Our financing option includes a 0% APR on a 12-month payment plan with a 30% down payment. This makes it easy to budget for your education without worrying about high interest rates.

At Drive Force CDL Academy, we offer comprehensive CDL training programs, including Class A manual and automatic license programs. Our courses are designed to equip you with the skills needed to excel in the trucking industry.

9 INDUSTRIAL DRIVE, HUDSON, NEW HAMPSHIRE

The duration of the CDL training program at Drive Force CDL Academy varies based on the selected course, but typically ranges from 4 to 6 weeks, allowing students to gain the necessary skills and knowledge.

A CDL opens the door to many high-demand truck driving jobs, including long-haul trucking (over-the-road), regional routes, and local delivery. You can also specialize in areas like flatbed, tanker, or refrigerated transport, which often come with higher pay. The demand for qualified truck drivers is strong, providing excellent job security.

To enroll in our CDL training program, you must be at least 18 years old (21 for interstate driving), have a valid driver's license, and be able to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and a drug screen. We'll guide you through the process of obtaining your Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP) before you start behind-the-wheel training.

A Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is the highest level of commercial license you can obtain. It allows you to operate any combination of vehicles with a gross combination weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 pounds or more, including a towed unit that weighs more than 10,000 pounds. This is the license you need to drive a large tractor-trailer or semi-truck.

The Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) Mandate, which went into effect in February 2022, requires all new CDL applicants to receive training from a school listed on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) Training Provider Registry (TPR). Our school is a fully certified ELDT provider, so you can be confident that you are receiving the mandated training needed to take your CDL skills test.

We're dedicated to helping you succeed. While our pass rates are very high, we offer additional support if you don't pass on your first try. Depending on your needs, we provide remedial training and will help you schedule a retest. Our goal is to ensure you have the skills and confidence to pass the CDL test.

A CDL opens the door to a wide range of trucking jobs that can be tailored to your lifestyle:

  • Over-the-Road (OTR): This involves long-haul trucking, often with long periods on the road. It typically offers the highest pay.
  • Regional: This involves driving within a specific region or a few states, allowing you to be home more frequently.
  • Local: This involves making deliveries within a metropolitan area or short distances, so you can be home every night.
  • Specialized: This includes jobs in specific sectors like flatbed, tanker, or refrigerated trucking, which may require additional endorsements and can offer a higher salary.

A clean driving record is a significant factor, but it's not always a strict requirement. Your driving history is reviewed as part of the CDL licensing process. A record with multiple recent violations, such as speeding tickets or DUIs, can affect your eligibility for a CDL and limit your job opportunities with certain trucking companies. We recommend speaking with our admissions team to discuss your specific situation.
